கனடாவை தளமாகக் கொண்ட இடைக்காடு மகா வித்தியாலயத்தின் “பழைய மாணவர் சங்கத்தின்” செயற்குழு உறுப்பினர்களே,

நேற்று, ஜூலை 28, 2024 அன்று நடைபெற்ற, ஒன்றுகூடுதலை வெற்றிகரமாக ஏற்பாடு செய்து, பாராட்டு மற்றும் பரிசுகள் அடங்கிய நினைவுச் சின்னத்தை வழங்கி என்னைக் கெளரவித்த அனைவருக்கும் எனது நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.

நேற்றைய தினம் என் வாழ்வில் ஒரு சிவப்பு எழுத்து தினம். ஆசிரியரின் பங்கை ஒரு விவசாயியுடன் ஒப்பிட்டு, இடைக்காடு மகாவித்தியாலயத்தில் எனது முன்னாள் சகாக்களுடன் சேர்ந்து நான் இந்த நாளில் விதையாக விதைத்ததை இந்த நாளில் அறுவடை செய்கிறேன் என்று கூற விரும்புகிறேன். அந்த பள்ளிக்கூடம். விளைச்சலில் எனது பங்கை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, இந்த அழகிய நாட்டில், மதிப்புமிக்க கல்விப் பணிகளாலும் மகிழ்ச்சியான வாழ்க்கையாலும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட, எனது கடந்தகால மாணவர்களாகிய உங்கள் அனைவரையும், இந்த அழகிய நாட்டில் பூக்களைப் போல மகிமையுடன் மலருவதைக் காண்பதில் நான் அளவற்ற மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன்.

இலங்கையில் இதுவரை நான் சேவையாற்றிய அனைத்துப் பாடசாலைகளிலும் இடைக்காடு மகா வித்தியாலயம் எனது கண்மணியாக என் இதயத்தில் நிலைத்து நிற்கிறது. இந்தக் கூற்றுக்கு பங்களிக்கும் காரணிகள்: இடைக்காடு மகா வித்தியாலயத்தில் நான் கற்பித்த காலத்தில், பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் ஒழுக்கமாகவும், படிப்புடனும் இருந்தனர்; அவர்கள் A/L & O/L பரீட்சைகளில் நல்ல பெறுபேறுகளை உருவாக்கி, பாடசாலைக்கு பெயர் சம்பாதித்திருந்தனர்; பள்ளியின் எனது முன்னாள் சகாக்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் புரிந்துகொண்டு ஒத்துழைத்து, தோழமை உணர்வுடன் பணியாற்றினர்.

அதுமட்டுமல்லாமல், செல்வம் படைத்த பெற்றோர்கள், நலம் விரும்பிகள், திரு.நமசிவாயம் போன்ற பரோபகாரிகளால் பள்ளிக்கு நிதியுதவி வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது தொடர்பாக, பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கும், ஆசிரியர்களுக்கும் வசதிகள் செய்து கொடுப்பதற்காக, “பழைய மாணவர்கள். இப்பாடசாலையின் அபிவிருத்திக்கு முதுகெலும்பாக விளங்கும் கனடாவை தளமாகக் கொண்ட இடைக்காடு மகா வித்தியாலயத்தின் 'சங்கம்' சிறப்புடன் குறிப்பிடத் தக்கது.

பல ஆண்டுகளாக அறிஞர்களையும் வல்லுனர்களையும் உருவாக்கிய இந்தப் பள்ளியின் ஆசிரியராக இருந்ததில் நான் பெருமைப்படுகிறேன்.

இந்தச் சங்கத்தின் செயற்குழுவில் அக்கறையுள்ள அனைவருக்கும் மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.

Dear members of the working committee of the “Old Students’ Association” of Idaikkadu Maha Vidyalayam, based in Canada,

I thank you all concerned in organizing the get together, held yesterday, the 28th of July, 2024, successfully and honouring me with a memento of felicitation and gifts.

Yesterday was a Red-Letter Day in my life. Comparing the role of a teacher to that of a farmer, I would like to say that on this day, I was reaping the harvest of what I had planted as seeds at Idaikkadu Maha Vidyalayam a very long time ago, along with my former colleagues of the school. Taking my share of the harvest, I have immense pleasure in seeing you all, my past students, blessed with prestigious academic jobs and happy lives, blossoming gloriously like flowers in this beautiful country.

Of all the schools I have served so far in Sri Lanka, Idaikkadu Maha Vidyalayam has been remaining in my heart as the apple of my eye, meaning it is my most favourite school of all the schools I have ever served in Sri Lanka. The factors contributing to this claim are: At the time when I taught at Idaikkadu Maha Vidyalayam, the students of the school had been disciplined and studious; they had produced good results at the A/L & O/L examinations, earning a name for the school; my former colleagues of the school had been understanding and co-operative to one another, working with a sense of camaraderie.

Besides, the school has been supported financially by wealthy parents, well-wishers, and philanthropists, such as Mr. Namasivayam, etc. In this regard, for the provision of facilities to the students and the teachers of the school, the “Old Students’ Association” of Idaikkadu Maha Vidyalayam’, based in Canada, which is the back bone for the school for the development of the school, deserves its special mention.

I am proud to have been a teacher of this school, which has produced scholars and professionals throughout the years.

Once again, I thank you all concerned in the working committee of this association.
